Pick Of The Week:
Mike Patton - A Perfect Place
(DVD Short & CD Score)
This is bound to wind up as one of my favorite releases of the year. The film, A Perfect Place is a 20 minute short starring Mark Boone, Jr. (Batman Begins, 30 Days Of Night). It's a Jarmuschian tale of two people transporting a body to the perfect place to be buried. It's shot in gorgeous Black & White. The score, by Mike Patton is a genre-shifting work that belongs up there with Patton's best work.
This track is Main Title, a Zorn-ish piece that plays over the opening titles.
Fanu/Bill Laswell - Lodge
I don't know anything about this CD, but it has the name Bill Laswell on it, so it is desired.
Kaki King - Dreaming Of Revenge
Billy Martin - Illy B Eats, Vol. 3
Presidents Of The United States - These Are Good Times People
