I believe that Poison the Hit Parade is Ike Reilly's sixth CD. After his first CD, 1992's "Community No. 9", I can't find any record of him doing anything for 9 years. While other Libertyville, IL residents moved to L.A. and formed such bands as Rage Against The Machine, Tool and Babes in Toyland, he stayed in Libertyville.
In 2001, Ike's major label debut "Salesmen and Racists" was released by Universal, but quickly went nowhere. Ike was dropped, and the album went out of print. After another delay, Ike regrouped and released 2004's "Sparkle in the Finish". It seems things have finally been clicking for him. What seem to be good sales, rave reviews, plenty of tours and a LOT of music (Poison the Hit Parade is his 4th album in 5 years).
While the album is still almost a month away, enjoy this early single, "Dragonflies".
